It's been a fun and exciting few days of changes here with the puppies. They're all so mobile, trying their best to run, bounce, and even jump. Somebody warned me that redheads were trouble, and little Mia is certainly living up to that reputation. She "runs" at the side of the pool and does her best to jump out. Thank goodness she's still unsuccessful. If there's a bit of a puppy scrap going on, she's usually in the middle of it (or the instigator). It really bothers her to watch her siblings sleeping so peacefully so she'll snuggle up beside one and sharply bite his/her ear until they wake up. Yep, she's a stinker already. Remember, Jill, you did ask for "attitude".
They're spending their days outside in a large ex-pen. There's a crate inside with the door removed and they'll crawl in and have a nap. There's a water pail hanging on the side and they're dipping their face in, lapping up a bit, spilling more. And several toys. Already enjoying toy and it's funny to watch them dig out the biggest one and attempt to walk around with it.

They've discovered my pant legs and tug on them as I walk around the kitchen. They love being out of the pool and exploring their world.
Each of them is developing their own personality. We've already met little Mia-Mia-Monster. Autumn is the sweetheart of the group, very charming, very snuggly. Lacey is quite nicely in between her sisters. Sweet, confident, playful. Ruckus is already The Thinker and has done a bit of problem solving when he's barricaded by toys or the little footstool. "Yukon" knows he's a special boy as I kept teasing Glenn I was going to keep him. Jaxon seems to be all about business, whether it's eating, playing, or trying to bust outta the pool. Dillon, definitely the gentle giant of the bunch. LOVES to eat, is content to roll over and sleep off the big belly, not too demanding when he wants out of the pool, just a real teddy bear. Boxley has his favorite spot to sleep, tucked in behind Gracin's and Paisley's crates, and always heads there when he's tired. Maybe he'll turn out to be a "personal space" kind of guy.
Their early socialization experience is well underway. In the last few days, they've met big men, watched noisy tractors go past their ex-pen, heard their first booms of thunder, and had fun playing with a few beer cans (you can thank me later for that, Paul). I've put their outside crate on uneven ground so it wobbles back and forth a bit. They've followed me all over the yard like little ducklings. A few have even gotten close up and personal with a horse. They've cuddled with Zoey and been snarled at by Tesse. Through all this, not a reaction from any of them as they just take each new experience in stride.
Today, their first "meal" of chicken necks. They didn't eat them but certainly enjoyed chewing on them and tearing off little bits of meat. They also figured out how to protect their prey, by picking it up and walking over to a less occupied part of the pool.
What's next? Car rides. And kids, kids, kids as the little girls from next door will start coming over to play with them.
