Nine weeks passed already?

I know this sounds like such a cliche, but really ... Where does the time go? One day the puppies are just learning to escape their pool, and soon they're heading down the driveway off to their new homes. Once again, I feel so blessed to have the most wonderful families come to me for their Aussie companions. New owners and "repeat customers" truly make this a labor of love. I absolutely delight in watching the kids grow and am fortunate to have frequent opportunities to do so when "my families" return with their pups of all ages and we enjoy our fenceline walkies. I'm also looking forward to a trip north to Edmonton where I'll have the opportunity for a puppy playday with the Casselcreek'ers up there.

Things are settling down again ... or at least as settled as they ever get around here. Little monkey Dolly is going to be hanging around Casselcreek a bit longer, unless my boys (Glenn & Matt) totally fall for her antics and never let her go. She's such a fun and comical little character who never walks anywhere and prefers to literally bounce through life.

Capri is soon turning out to be everything and so much more than I had ever hoped for. At just over 3 months, I'm amazed at how quickly she learns everything I'm teaching so far. Her training for the show ring has been a breeze and she's already really understanding the game. She's going to be sooo much fun to show. She's got two ASCA weekends under her collar already with a BOS puppy and two 2nd place ribbons while down in Idaho. Puppy classes with All Bright Dogs have been great, and next on her calendar is the weekend handling seminar with Joy & Vaughn.

We had a nicely successful weekend at the AKC Lewiston cluster and Tri-State ASCA shows in Idaho in mid April, with Belle winning her class all 3 days, including a Reserve Winners Bitch, followed by Winners Bitch in ASCA for her first 2 points there. Soooo very proud of my pretty blue girl. There's something so wonderfully special about Belle, and I'm always extremely proud to own her. Bigger things on Belle's horizon as we head off to our first herding clinic later this month.

It's been a busy time for Gracin, too (wink wink nudge nudge). Emmy was here in early April, and Spec (CH Sheep's Kin Spectacular Vantage) was here this past week. I would expect some beautiful puppies out of both of these crosses.

Happily, Paisley has returned to her usual crazy self after her foray into motherhood. She self-weaned her puppies and once they stopped nursing she was more than happy to spend hours playing with them, thankful they finally stopped hanging off her underbelly. At 3 years old, she's really still such a puppy herself and I'm happy to have my VBFF back at my side.

Lots of photos to edit and hopefully a few to post, as well as my anticipated "Puppies & their Peeps" page on my website. I'm feeling so guilty for not keeping up with the snaps. Until then ...

Happy Trails ... Theresa
