Another 3 weeks gone by. The puppies are growing so fast ... regular little people now. We did evaluations a week ago at the 8-week mark and, as I had hoped, Prim came out on top, at least for girls. Overall, and I tried to remain very objective, she did score highest of the 4 of them. Whewff, thank goodness. Decisions are made on the pups and Giggles, now Roxie, will be heading home with a wonderful couple who already own one of my dogs, Revy (from the Gracin x Emmy cross). Big boy Juice will be on his way to a wonderful show home not too far away, and I'll have many opportunities to see him in the ring with his handler. Scotch, the handsome red merle fellow, will be boarding a flight next week and heading off to join Nancy Gagnon and her pack at Buff Cap Aussies. The next few days will be busy and bittersweet. I can't help but shed tears when they leave me, and I get choked up just thinking about it.
Nevertheless, I am sooooo excited to get busy with Prim! She's such a fun little girl with so much potential and is already beginning her leash work, stack, stay, etc. She's a dream on the grooming table already, is fine with the Dremel on her nails, and tolerates the blow dryer. Better get used to it, sweetheart.
