Yesterday marked the end of a looooong and busy Spring/Summer as the last puppy from two litters this year headed off to her new furever home. I didn't know whether to cry or jump for joy, but in the end the tears made that decision for me. She was nearly impossible to resist and I became a tad attached to my little "Mohtzie ball" over the past couple of weeks. Such a smart and well-behaved puppy-girl. The kitchen "almost" looks empty now, as empty as any room can be that still has a gazillion crates occupying the floor. But the empty space where little Jessie's crate stood only yesterday, certainly keeps drawing my attention. Just beyond that space though, is Capri's crate and when I see her, I'm instantly snapped back to reality. And reality with Capri is pretty exciting.
After such a spectacular weekend in Castlegar with Capri going Best of Breed in all six shows, I came home and hoped to get her into every show I could. And then ... reality again. With our big trip in the works to Waco at the end of October, and a quick trip to Spokane this weekend, we'll make a few CKC shows but have a few weekend breaks, too.
Speaking of breaks, I've actually taken some of late. I know! Last Sunday, we joined puppy Finn and owner Chelsey, along with her other boy Bocce, and her human boy Josh, and did an 8 km walk along the irrigation canal in Strathmore. Bocce is a riot and was in and out of the water constantly, and with such a confident pal to show her how, Capri got right in on the swim, too. She actually swam! Looked a little panicked once, but learned quickly to keep her legs down and in the water and paddle, paddle, paddle. Such fun! and such great exercise, too.
Happy Trails ... Theresa
